Volunteer Mobile is now accepting applications for members of its AmeriCorps Emergency Response Team. The positions being filled include Emergency Response Team (ERT) Member and ERT Unit Leader. The ERT is trained in all types of Emergency Response and can be mobilized to assist during and after a disaster. The ERT will have a direct impact on communities in the devastated areas of a disaster and will work along side other responding agencies. The objective is to have a trained group of professional emergency responders that can be deployed to address critical needs in public safety and to make the transition as smooth as possible. The types of emergencies they may be deployed to include: floods, NASA search, rescues, ice storms, terrorist attacks, tornadoes, wildfires, and hurricanes.
Applicants must be18 years of age and able to provide documentation of U.S. citizenship. The applicant must be in good physical condition and must be able to complete physical training. They should also be willing and able to travel frequently in this position and they may be required to reside or inhabit rugged conditions for extended periods of time.
This group works as a team and applicants must be able to take direction and work and adapt to a changing environment.
