Update on Mobile's Waterfront

Construction on the Maritime Center at Mobile Landing will be postponed until construction of the cruise ship terminal is finished. The terminal building which is being called , "Harbor Center" will be located to the south of the Maritime Center site on the Mobile River.

The cruise terminal will include a five or six story parking garage and will be ready in time for the first Carnival cruise out of Mobile Landing in mid-October.

The Delta Queen Steamboat Company is bringing its Delta Queen paddlewheel streamer to Mobile for regularly scheduled cruises beginning in 2005. Mobile is a stopping point for the steamer for cruises launching from Pensacola or New Orleans in February, June, September and December.
