Tropical Storm Gordon Update

"Following an assessment after Tropical Storm Gordon, we are thankful that Mobile only experienced light damage from the storm. Thanks to the hard work of our City employees and partnering agencies, we have cleared the streets of the City, cleaned storm drains, fixed traffic lights and removed fallen trees. To alleviate the impacts from the storm, the City of Mobile has implemented its response plan to remedy minor damage from Tropical Storm Gordon.
- Cleaned and inspected storm drains.
- Collecting citizens' trash (limbs, debris) from the storm on the regular trash schedule.
- Repaired traffic signals at the following intersections: Spring Hill Avenue & Florida Street, Hamilton Boulevard & Rangeline Road, Cottage Hill Rd & I-65 Service Rd S, Grelot at University, Padgett Switch at Hwy 90, McVay at DIP.
- Alleviated flooding.
- Removed large trees and limbs at 40 locations including: Oak Drive Court, Canal Street, Upham Street, Biggs, Mott Drive South, 8946 Cottage Hill Road, Springhill Avenue & Tuthill, Murray Hill & Murray Oaks, Staples Rd & Terry Rd, Barker Dr, McDonald Rd & Theodore Dawes Rd W, McFarland Rd & Scott Dairy Loop, Cuba Street & Lyons Street, Hannon Ave & Bayfront, Commercial Park Drive, Darwood Drive, McLaughlin Drive, Lipscombs Landing, Westwood Street, Yucca Drive, 5521 Cottage Hill Road, Autumn Ridge Drive, Gill Road, Pettus Street, Island Court, Gill Road at Weaver Road, Doyle Avenue, Brookside Drive, Hannon Road, South Bayou Street, Timberly Road North, Park Drive, Springhill at I65, St. Stephens Rd and Catherine St, 2409 Woodland Road, Genoa Drive, Blacklawn Street and Levert Street.
- Responding to trees and limbs down at 4 locations including: Dunnaway Drive, Hillcrest Lane West, Ridgeway Drive and Chester Court.
