Transit Awareness Fun Day

Sunday, July 24, 2011, the Wave Transit System will sponsor its third annual Transit Awareness Fun Day.

This year the Wave will host a basketball tournament that will be held in Prichard at the William Clark Family Center located at William Clark Family Life Center:

Prichard, Alabama 36610

The basketball tournament consists of teams of employees of the Wave Transit System and teams from the Mobile Police Department and the Prichard Police Department.

The highlight of the day will be the basketball exhibition by the very talented and experienced Mobile Patriots-Mobile’s own wheelchair team playing the last game of the day.

The doors open at 2:00 and the festivities begin when the Wave Transit teams start off the games at 2:30. At 3:45, the Mobile Police will play the Prichard Police. The grand finale will be at 5:00, when the Mobile Patriots finish the day with their exhibition game.

In addition to the exciting basketball games, Mobile Gas will be providing free hotdogs to the attendees. There will be a showcase of transit vehicles. In addition, vendors will be on site representing agencies from the Mobile area that will be of interest to the attendees.

Also Felicia Albritton, well known radio personality from Cumulus Radio and WGOK, will be on hand to give away prizes.
