Today is GMAC Bowl Day at the Exploreum

Sep 15th, 2006

Today is GMAC Bowl Day at the Gulf Coast Exploreum. It is the first of nine Fun Football Fan Fridays.

Fans wearing their favorite GMAC Bowl shirts or hats get in free to see the latest exhibit, Football: The Exhibit. Fans can come try their hand at several interactive activities such as, being a quarterback, gripping like a lineman or running like a champion sprinter, all while learning about the history and science behind the sport.

The GMAC Bowl started in 1999, and has included such players and teams as, LaDainian Tomlinson of Texas Christian University and Byron Leftwich of Marshall University. Last year Toledo beat UTEP 45 to 13. The 8th annual GMAC Bowl will be played at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, AL on Sunday January 7, 2007. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN.

The Gulf Coast Exploreum Science Center hosts various traveling exhibits and ever-changing IMAX movies. The facility also has many permanent interactive exhibits in Hands on Hall, Minds on Hall, the Wharf of Wonder, the Ciba Lab and in our Digital Journeys Theater.
