Theodore Dawes Road to close for road resurfacing
Mobile, Ala. – Beginning Monday, Sept. 18, Theodore Dawes Road will be closed between U.S. Highway 90 and Carol Plantation Road to accommodate a road resurfacing project.
This resurfacing work is being funded through Mobile County’s Pay-As-You-Go program and will take approximately a month. Theodore Dawes Road is scheduled to reopen on Oct. 18. A signed detour route has been established that will direct motorists to Carol Plantation Road and U.S. Highway 90. In addition to the City of Mobile’s reconstruction along Theodore Dawes Road, Mobile County will resurface 2.9 miles of Hamilton Blvd. east of Highway 90 as part of this project.
A joint effort between the city and county, this 2022 PAYGO project will make needed repairs to these roads and provide them with the necessary infrastructure to support truck traffic in the area.
