The Wave Wants You to Stuff the Bus

Dec 3rd, 2007

The Wave Transit System is sponsoring its First Stuff the Bus campaign by collecting toys for children on Saturday, December 8, 2007, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Midtown Wal-Mart at Springdale Blvd., and I -65.

The children who will benefit are in programs of the Mobile YWCA of Greater Mobile, an established nonprofit organization with a 103 year history of serving women, girls and families. Assisting more than 90 children daily, the YWCA offers income-sensitive services to working families throughout the greater Mobile area. Toy donations will benefit children participating in a preschool program, a homeless daycare program and an after school program.. The YWCA is a United Way partner agency.

The donated toys must be unwrapped, and new.

Please drop off the toys at the Wave bus that will be parked in front of Wal-Mart. Boxes for toy donations will be available at the Wave offices at the GM&O building on Beauregard Street, as well as at the office at 1224 West I-65 Service Road, South.
