The Wave Transit System Wants You to Stuff the Bus

Dec 1st, 2009

The Wave Transit System is sponsoring its 3rd annual Stuff the Bus campaign by collecting toys for children on Saturday, December 5, 2009 AM from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Midtown Walmart at Springdale Boulevard and I-65.

The Wave has chosen 2 agencies this year to benefit from this event.

The children who will benefit are being served by the Boys and Girls Clubs of South Alabama and Volunteers of America of the Southeast. They range in age from toddler to 18 years old.

Tyrone Parker, General Manager of The Wave Transit System says he expects to fill the 29 foot bus again this year. The past two years, the agencies benefiting from this event have been the YWCA and Penelope House.

“Sponsoring this event is a real opportunity for The Wave to pay back to the community for the support given to The Wave all year long, says Parker. It has become a tradition in our organization to sponsor the event.”

Prior to December 5, 2009, anyone can drop off a donation at The Wave Transit office at 110 Beauregard Street, Suite 104, or at 1224 West I-65 Service Road South.
