The Market on the Square returns for Spring and Summer 2009

Apr 22nd, 2009

Downtown Mobile’s seasonal farmers’ market opens its doors again beginning Saturday, April 25th between 7:30 and 11 a.m. on Cathedral Square. Each week, the market offers shoppers the freshest varieties of locally grown produce, seafood, honeys, beef, plants and cut flowers. Specialty items such as freshly baked breads, artisanal pastas, cheeses, and handcrafted goods for kitchen and home will also be available each week until the season closes on July 25th.

To make the market more fun and diverse, we will be planning a series of events centered around live food, music, dancing, and art with the Mobile Arts Council, the Gulf Coast Herb Society and other organizations in the community. For more information, please visit our website at www.ncsmobile.org.

The Market is a public initiative of the City’s Neighborhood & Community Services Department designed to provide the freshest and healthiest food choices to its citizens.

It functions to simultaneously support our local agrarian economy that is the benchmark of our Alabama heritage. For more information, please call Chris Barraza at 208-7540.
