The Great DRIFT is This Saturday

The Great DRIFt will take place on Saturday, April 16th, starting at Dog River Park (formerly Lusher Park) at 2 PM. (DRIFt is the Dog River Inaugural Float).

• The DRIFt is the Inauguration of the first 7 miles of the Dog River Scenic Blueway.
• There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at 2, followed by the launch of the boats.
• Paddlers will take follow Dog River to the River Shack at the mouth of Mobile Bay.
• Bring your own boat, or canoes and kayaks will be available to rent.
• There is no cost to participate.
• There will be aid stations along the way.
• Residents along the river will decorate their docks- there will be an award for the most festive dock and for the most festive boat.
• There will be a post DRIFt party at the River Shack, starting at 5 PM, with live music.
• Drop your boat at the park (secure staging area). Park at the River Shack. There will be transportation from the Shack to the park for the start.
