Thanksgiving Holidays Garbage and Trash Collections

GARBAGE:

All Public Works Divisions will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 27 & 28, 2003 for the Thanksgiving holiday. That means if your garbage is normally picked up on Thursday's, you will miss pick-up on Thursday, November 27. Your next garbage pick-up day will be the following Monday, December 1. If your normal pick-up day would be Friday, November 28, your garbage will not be picked up until Tuesday, December 2, 2003.

Because of the missed days, Public Works Superintendent John Windley says he expects heavier than normal loads to pick up. He says to make up for the missed days, crews will work on Wednesday, December 3, 2003, their normal off day. Windley says he hopes to be back on schedule with all garbage picked up by Wednesday evening.

TRASH:

People who live on the southside of the city, and normally have their trash collected every other Thursday and Friday, will get pick-up on November 13 & 14 ONLY. Because of the holiday, trash will NOT be picked up November 27 & 28. The next normal collection days will be Thursday & Friday, December 11 & 12.
