TENTH ANNUAL ZOGHBY-DEVANEY TOURNAMENT

The 10th annual Zoghby-DeVaney golf tournament will be hosted by Spring Hill College on Sunday September 26, 2004 at Spring Hill Golf Course. The 1 p.m. event will be a four-person scramble followed by an awards dinner.

Interested participants are invited to celebrate mass before the tournament at St. Joseph Chapel at 11 a.m., and non-golfers and children are invited to enjoy a family fun area on the South Lawn of the College campus at 4 p.m.

Sponsorship opportunities for the tournament are still available, and proceeds will fund a scholarship for children, grandchildren and alumni living in the Mobile/Baldwin County areas.

In 1995, the Mobile Chapter of the Spring Hill College National Alumni Association named its scholarship golf tournament to honor a distinguished alumnus, jurist and professor, the Honorable Judge Michael E. Zoghby. In the summer of 1997, James DeVaney, recipient of the Zoghby Scholarship died in an automobile accident. In honor of his memory, the Mobile Alumni Chapter added his name to the scholarship.
