Take Your Dog Out to the Ballgame

Jul 26th, 2007

B&B Pet Stop Sponsors "Bark in the Park" at Hank Aaron Stadium

The best way to celebrate the "dog days of summer" is to take your dog to the baseball game! B&B Pet Stop is sponsoring the BayBears game on August 5th and we're calling it "Bark in the Bark".

Bring your well-behaved, leashed dog to Hank Aaron Stadium and join the pre-game Pooch Parade out on the field. Afterwards, you and your furry friend will find your seats and enjoy the game. We've got lots of fun activities planned to keep your pet entertained between innings, too!

"This event brings together two great American passions: baseball and dogs!" says General Manager, Sally Trufant. "At B&B Pet Stop, we're always looking for fun things to do with your best furry friend, so when the BayBears approached us with this idea - we were thrilled to team up with them."

Don't have a dog yet? No problem!

Before the game, from 4 - 6 pm, join representatives from the Mobile Animal Shelter, the Mobile SPCA, Greyhound Pets of America, and Lost Without You Animal Rescue under the tents in front of the stadium for a mini pet adoption event. These animal rescue groups will offer sweet, healthy dogs that are up-to-date on shots, are spayed or neutered, and heartworm tested. Adoption fees range from $60 - $150.

The Friends of Mobile Animal Shelter will also be micro-chipping pets for $20 per pet. A micro-chip is a permanent form of identification inserted under the skin. If a pet is lost, rescue organizations nationwide can scan the pet and easily contact the owner.

Free BayBears tickets to anyone adopting a dog or having their pet micro-chipped at this event. Free Goody bags to the first 50 dogs attending the game.
Alabama Dog Magazine will be on hand as well as dog training groups and other dog friendly businesses.

Events inside the stadium will naturally require a ticket, but all activities outside the stadium including the pet adoption, microchip clinic, and dog fair do NOT require tickets.

Bring your dog (on a leash) to Hank Aaron stadium for fun, games and lots of dog biscuits! Adds Trufant, "Bark in the Park is about family fun and bonding. We want to create an event where it's about more than baseball."
