Students, Singer Honored by Mayor, City Council

Norwood Young, a singer and actor who has devoted much of his time to causes such as "Feed His People", a non-profit organization dedicated to feeding the hungry, was honored with a proclamation presented by Mayor Jones.

Also, students in Ms. Wendy Brightman's 8th grade class at Phillips Preparatory School were presented certificates by Councilman Fred Richardson for their participation in Project Citizen. Project Citizen is an elective class, designed to tackle the problem of student involvement in local and state government by being informed of the issues going on in Mobile through the use of guest speakers from different organizations throughout Mobile.

Councilman Richardson and Councilwoman Connie Hudson spoke to the class.
