Statement from the City of Mobile Animal Shelter

The City of Mobile Animal Shelter, located at 855 Owens Street, its employees, volunteers and supporters are mistakenly receiving messages and calls regarding the distemper situation at the Mobile County Animal Shelter. The Mobile County Animal Shelter, located on Howell’s Ferry Road, is governed by the Mobile County Commission and its employees.

The City of Mobile Animal Shelter and their support group, the Friends of the Mobile Animal Shelter, have no role in the decisions made by the county shelter.

Since October 2008, the City of Mobile Animal Shelter has maintained a no-healthy death policy.
