Spring Hill College Nursing Students Sponsor Fall Health Fair

Sep 22nd, 2003

MOBILE-Spring Hill nursing students, in collaboration with the SHC Wellness Center, will sponsor their annual fall Health Fair on Tuesday, Sept. 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Louise Moorer Commons of the College’s Campus Center. The event is open to local residents of all ages who want information about their personal health or health-related topics such as stress management and nutrition.

Local organizations will be on hand to offer free hemoglobin checks, hearing exams, eye exams, oxygen saturation tests, body fat percentage measurements, blood pressure screenings and glucose checks. Cholesterol screenings will be available for $3.

Vendors will include the American Red Cross, World Gym, Mobile AIDS Support
Services, Rape Crisis Center, Mary Abbie Berg Senior Center and Providence
Hospital Emergency Room. Door prizes will also be given away throughout the event.

Held twice each year, the Health Fair allows College nursing students to use practical skills, educate their peers and the community and provide local residents with information about their health and its importance.

For directions to the Campus Center or more information about the Health Fair, contact the Wellness Center at (251) 380-2270.
