First Sales for City's REACT SystemReno, Nevada and Washington D.C. are two of Mobile's newest customers! And the list of potential buyers is growing.
Both Reno and Washington D.C. have signed agreements to purchase the City of Mobile's Request for Action System. The President of Automated Business Systems, the company that markets and sells Mobile's "REACT" System will deliver two checks to the City of Mobile, Tuesday, March 11, 2003 during the Council meeting. The City of Reno, Nevada's royalties for Mobile total $23,207.00. Washington D.C.'s royalty check is $31,500.00. These are first time checks, but the City of Mobile's contract allows for royalties to be paid not only on first time licenses, but on recurring service agreements as well. According to Rick Vandenburg, Director of Information Technology for the City of Reno, "Several systems were reviewed, some of which required more than $1-million dollars to implement. The E-REACT system, however, provided the most functionality and easiest implementation with minimal customization."
As its name implies, REACT provides people who live in the City of Mobile a central place to call with their concerns, complaints or questions. REACT was designed by City of Mobile employees. It is a call center staffed 24/7 with operators who take the calls, then they create service request orders, and e-mail them to city departments where work orders are issued and filled.
Since its inception 4 years ago, REACT has saved the City of Mobile countless employee hours because the system streamlines requests.
Now instead of one complaint going to many different City departments, it goes to one central place-a "clearinghouse". The system also provides a record of service requests that enables the City to focus on areas of greatest need.
Which city is next in line to buy REACT? Representatives from Chesapeake, Virginia will be in Mobile Wednesday, March 12, 2003 to check out the system.
