Shoe Station and Regions Bank to Sponsor City of Mobile Independence Day Fireworks Celebration

Jun 14th, 2016

Mobile, Ala. -- Shoe Station and Regions Bank are generously donating funds for the 2016 City of Mobile Independence Day Fireworks Celebration.

Shoe Station is gifting the City $5,000 and is donating $1 per pair of shoes sold from now until July 3. Regions Bank is donating $1,500.

"I want to thanks Shoe Station and Regions Bank for their generous donations," said Mayor Stimpson. "Because of their faithful stewardship, the City of Mobile will carry on its longstanding tradition of painting the sky red, white and blue on Independence Day. It's a representation of our City's unbroken patriotism and a symbol of our commitment to honoring those who have served and those who continue to protect our families and our freedom."

You can come celebrate an evening of patriotic music, picnicking and fireworks at Battleship Memorial Park, 2703 Battleship Parkway on July 4th. Gates will open for on-field parking at 5:00 p.m. and the fireworks celebration will begin promptly at 9:00 pm. Admission is $5 per car. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and picnic baskets.

If you are viewing the fireworks show from the water, the City is asking that you stay 750 feet away from the fireworks barge and the USS ALABAMA. Marine Police and the Mobile Fire Department will be strictly enforcing the safety zone.
