SHC Upward Bound Student Will Work for NASA This Summer

Tiffany Dinkins, a student in the Upward Bound program at Spring Hill College, is one of only 400 high school students nationwide selected to participate in the NASA Summer High School Apprenticeship Research Program (SHARP), a research-based program for gifted students interested in science and engineering. The 17-year-old daughter of Chernava Dinkins of Mobile, Tiffany Dinkins competed against 1000 other applicants for the program and will be assigned to California State University in Los Angeles where she will attend classes and work with scientists on research projects from June 21-August 13. Participants receive a stipend and all living expenses are paid. Tiffany will be a senior at LeFlore High School this fall and is currently ranked first in her class.
