SANITARY SEWER OVERFLOW REPORTED Caused by Heavy Rains - Mobile Health Advisory Issued

Thursday, April 7, 2005, the Mobile County Health Department was notified by the Mobile Area Water and Sewer System that multiply overflows of untreated sewage occurred at the following locations due to heavy rainfall.

1100 Gimon Circle (2) / Eslava Creek
McVay & Navco Rd. (2) / Bolton Branch
1901 Old Shell Rd. / Three Mile Creek

Dr. Bernard Eichold, Health Officer, Mobile County Health Department, advises area residents to take precautions when using Eslava Creek, Bolton Branch, and Three Mile Creek for recreational purposes due to this release of untreated sewage. All seafood harvested in this general area should be thoroughly cooked before consumption. Individuals should wash hands after cleaning fish/seafood and before preparing food.
