Safety Checkpoints and House Raids Net Big Catches

Mayor Sam Jones, along with interim Police Chief Lester Hargrove and members of the Mobile Police Department, unveiled what has been confiscated during the past months’ security checkpoints and house raids. Among the collected items include five firearms, marijuana and crack cocaine with a street value of several thousands of dollars, and other illegal items.

“Keeping the citizens of Mobile safe is priority number one for me as mayor,” said Jones. “We will continue these security checkpoints because they are contributing a great service to our city.”

The city-wide totals for the checkpoints of April 28th and 29th and May 6th and 7th are as follows:

123 Misdemeanor Arrests
1,352 Traffic Citations Issued
