Rundown of Events for the MoonPie Over Mobile New Year's Eve Celebration

Here’s a rundown of the events and entertainment for the MoonPie Over Mobile New Year’s Eve Celebration:

• The Mobile Carnival Museum will be open from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m. with free admission and supervised children’s mask-making activities all evening.

• The Museum of Mobile will be open from 8 p.m. until 11 p.m. with free admission also and free children’s activities.

• The Gulf Coast Exploreum Science Center will be open until 10 p.m. All admission rates will be 50 percent off between 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. with special activities for children, including the Science of Moon Pie Making and the Science of Fireworks. ISING, a dynamic harmonizing group with excellent musicianship and a high-steppin, interactive stage show, will kick off the entertainment from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

• At 10:30, national recording artist Jimmy Hall & Wet Willie will take the stage and play through to the MoonPie Rise and countdown at midnight.

• Award winning chili will be served up by the Press-Register’s David Holloway with donations going to the American Cancer Society. Meanwhile, red beans and rice will be cooked up by the Salvation Army’s Chef Cecil Morris with donations going to the Salvation Army. Coffee, hot chocolate and thousands of MoonPies will also be distributed.

• Park at the Mobile Civic Center for MoonPie Over Mobile for $5 and take a complimentary shuttle to Cooper-Riverside park! Shuttles will run continuously from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.
