RSA CONTRACTORS TO MEET THE PUBLIC

Jun 17th, 2003

Construction of the RSA/Office Tower and Battlehouse Hotel is a $200-million dollar, three year project. Local companies will have an opportunity to meet the prime contractors-beginning July 1, 2003, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. in room 204 A & B at the Arthur Outlaw Convention Center in Mobile.

Contractors and their employees who are awarded work on the project will need a lot of goods, services and other supplies. In order to help them meet their needs and introduce them to the Mobile community, RSA's Project Manager Ron Blount is inviting all local suppliers to meet the nine pre-qualified bidders for the mechanical and engineering portion of the project.

Since these people will be working in Mobile for a long time, they will need everything from office supplies and equipment to housing, transportation, travel agents and even extra employees. All nine pre-qualified bidders will sit at individual tables to meet vendors. Blount says local craftsmen looking for work should bring their resumes.

Only two of the nine pre-qualified bidders will eventually be awarded the lucrative mechanical and electrical contracts. But, they won't know who that will be until mid July when bids are opened.
