Railroad Crossing Closures

Beginning Monday, January 10, 2011, both CSX and CN railroad companies will be repairing and rebuilding tracks throughout the city.

All work should be completed by the end of the month.

MONDAY, January 10, 2011 CLOSURES:

CN Railroad closures

Closure 1: Scott Street, Marine and Kentucky Streets will be closed at 8:30 AM and reopened around the end of the day, Wednesday, January 12, 2011.

The railroad crosses Scott Street, Marine and Kentucky Streets between Virginia St and I-10. Tennessee St. parallels the railroad tracks.

Closure 2: Houston, Lesesne, Rickarby, and Cherokee Streets will be closed at 8:30 AM and reopened around the end of the day, Wednesday, January 12, 2011. The railroad tracks run between Government Street and Dublin Street.

CSX Railroad Closures:

Closure 3: Hamilton Boulevard between Todd Acres Dr. and Highway 90 will be closed at 8:30 AM Monday and reopened at the end of that day.

Closure 4: Palmetto and Elmira Streets will be closed at 7:30 AM Monday and reopened at the end of that day. The railroad tracks that cross Palmetto and Elmira Streets are between South Royal Street and Mobile River.

The additional closures will be announced as soon as they can be scheduled. We will try to give more than 24 hours notice whenever possible, but the speed at which the railroad crews progress will vary for each location.

Detour routes will be posted at each location.
