PROPOSED BYPASS

Many people who live in the City of Mobile are joining together to protest the proposed bypass around the city which would connect I-65 & I-10. Many of these citizens say it looks like the bypass would provide an easy way for people to get form north Alabama to the boats in Biloxi-bypassing the entire city.

Mayor Mike Dow is receiving letters of concern from residents asking him to intercede with the State Department of Transportation to stop the bypass. One woman wrote Mayor Dow about her concerns for the city's water supply at Big Creek Lake. She says one of the current routes under consideration, route A will cause a large increase of contaminates that affect the city's drinking water.
