Proclamations: Salvation Army Week, Officer of the Month

At the City Council on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, Mayor Sam Jones recognized one local charitable organization and a Mobile Police Officer who went above and beyond the call of duty.

This week is National Salvation Army Week and Mayor Jones welcomed Majors Ted and Pamala Morris to the meeting to receive the proclamation. They have served as Salvation Army officers for 23 and 22 years respectively. Currently Major Ted Morris is the Area Commander for The Salvation Army in Mobile and Baldwin Counties and Major Pamala Morris serves as the Coordinator of Women's Ministries.

Mayor Jones also welcomed Officer Joshua Kersey. The four-year veteran assigned to the Third Precinct was awarded the Officer of the Month title for his exceptional performance and dedication to his job.
