Proclamations: Life Insurance Awareness, Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery, WHIL

At the Tuesday, September 1, 2009 City Council Meeting, Mayor Jones presented three proclamations to three deserving groups that serve Mobilians.

First, Mayor Jones presented WHIL General Manager Mario Mazza with a proclamation celebrating their 30 years of community service-oriented programming in Mobile. WHIL has been a positive force in the education of young and old alike, enhancing their ability to learn and develop.

Next was a proclamation recognizing September as Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month. Accepting the proclamation was Bill Layfield, Past-President of Alabama Voices of Recovery.

Finally, Mayor Jones proclaimed September as Life Insurance Awareness Month. Jay Stubbs, the President of the Mobile Chapter of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, accepted the proclamation.
