Proclamations: Homebuilders, Officer of the Month, Hillsdale Middle Basketball

Mayor Jones presented two proclamations at the council meeting on Tuesday, May 13, 2008. The first went to the Mobile Homebuilders Association for National Home Remodelors Month. Here are some quick facts about home remodeling:


American households spent approximately $230 billion in 2007 on maintaining and improving their homes

The number of existing housing units in the United States exceeds 120 million

The Home Builders Association of Metro Mobile, Inc. Remodelers is recognized as one of the largest Remodelors Councils in the United States

Also at the meeting, Mayor Jones recognized Officer William Cowart as the Officer of the Month. This is Officer Cowart's second time as Officer of the Month.

Finally, Councilwoman Gina Gregory recognized the Hillsdale Middle School basketball team as the Mobile County Middle School Champions.
