Proclamation: Cover the Uninsured Week

Mayor Jones presented a proclamation to Ashley Peyer, the Regional Coordinator for the “ALL Kids” Children’s Health Insurance Program, for Cover the Uninsured Week.

Here are some stats about people living without health insurance:

47 million Americans - including 9 million children - do not have healthcare coverage, with 8 out of 10 of those in working families;

More than 600,000 Alabamians do not have healthcare coverage;

More than half of the uninsured children in Alabama are eligible for ALL Kids, Medicaid or the Alabama Child Caring Program.
