Preservation Leadership Class to Begin

Mar 6th, 2014

You Don’t Have to Live in a 100 Year Old House to Learn About Preservation in Mobile

Mobile, Alabama, March 6, 2014 - The Mobile Historic Development Commission will be holding this year's Preservation Leadership Classes beginning on Tuesday, March 18 and to be held on consecutive Tuesdays through April 22 at 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at the City Archives, 457 Church Street.

In addition to learning about Preservation you get a tour of interesting restorations and of Mobile's oldest burial ground, Church Street Graveyard. Preservation Leadership consists of a series of six classes that covers history and architectural styles in Mobile, the ultimate insider's guide to the Architectural Review Board, as well as the two tours.

Preservation Leadership is part of the community outreach program of the Mobile Historic Development Commission and is taught by members of the staff. Last year's class filled with 25 participants from across the City. Registration for Preservation Leadership is $50 and the deadline is Tuesday, March 17 at noon.
