Preservation Leadership Class to Begin

Feb 6th, 2012

The Mobile Historic Development Commission will be holding this year’s Preservation Leadership Classes starting on Tuesday, February 28. The class will be held on consecutive Tuesdays continuing through April 3, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at the City Archives, 457 Church Street.

In addition to learning about Preservation, you get a tour of interesting restorations at 1204 Old Shell Road and the old Pillars Restaurant on Government Street and of Mobile's oldest burial ground, Church Street Graveyard. Preservation Leadership consists of a series of six classes that covers history and architectural styles in Mobile, the ultimate insider’s guide to the Architectural Review Board, as well as the two tours.

Preservation Leadership is part of the community outreach program of the Mobile Historic Development Commission and is taught by members of the staff. Each year, we have participants from across the City. Registration for Preservation Leadership is $50 and the deadline is Tuesday, February 24 at noon. Space is limited so register early.

To register for Preservation Leadership or for more information, contact the Mobile Historic Development Commission at mhdc@cityofmobile.org or (251)208-7281.
