Preservation Leadership Class Offered

Jan 22nd, 2007

The Mobile Historic Development Commission will be offering its annual Preservation Class beginning Tuesday, March 6th. The class will run for six consecutive Tuesdays, from 5:30 – 7:00, and meet at the Municipal Archives, 457 Church Street, behind the Chamber of Commerce. The cost for the class will be $50 and reservations are required by calling 208-7281.

The classes are offered for those interested in historic preservation; they are non-technical and cover a wide range of topics: Historic Mobile Architecture; Mobile History; the Review Board Process; Preservation Law and Living in a Historic District. There will be a tour of an unrestored house so the class can understand the restoration process; and a special guest lecturer. All other classes will be taught by the staff of the Mobile Historic Development Commission including the final tour of Church Street Graveyard.

All are encouraged to attend and to call immediately to reserve a place in the class. Space is limited. The class will not be offered again this year.
