Plastics Recycling Contest Winners Announced

As part of the 2005-2006 Great American Cleanup, six area schools took part in a Plastics Recycling Contest called Return the Warmth. Two of these schools, Burroughs Elementary and St Mary School were national winners, placing in the top 50 schools in the country. These two schools will receive a $1000 gift card from Sam’s Club, as well as a cash prize from Keep Mobile Beautiful. They also will receive 1000 fleece jackets to be donated to the charity of their choice. Burroughs Elementary selected Volunteer Mobile as their recipient and St. Mary School chose Catholic Service Center. The jackets will be distributed to needy children in and around the Mobile area before Christmas this year. All awards will be presented on:
