Overnight Lane Closures Continue in Downtown Mobile this Week

Feb 26th, 2013

Maintenance work on overhead signs will cause lane closures over the next several evenings this week in the downtown area of Mobile.

The lane closure schedule/traffic impact for Tuesday, Feb. 26, weather permitting, is as follows:

· From 9 p.m. – 1 a.m., all lanes on U.S. Highway 90 (Broad Street) between Dauphin Street and U.S. Highway 90 (Government Street) will be closed.

· From 1 a.m. – 5 a.m., all lanes on U.S. Highway 90 (Government Street) between Ann Street and U.S. Highway 90 (Broad Street) will be closed.

Local detours will be in place for both closures. Motorists are urged to use alternate routes.

These closures may be lifted prior to 5 a.m. depending on completion of work.

State Troopers will assist with traffic control and strongly enforce speed limits in the work zones.

Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this construction to improve Alabama’s roadways.
