MPD Teams Up with The Wave Transit System for “Transit Awareness Fun Day”

The Mobile Police Department will team up against The Wave Transit System for a softball game Sunday, June 28 at Michael Figures Park in an effort to increase awareness to public transportation. The event, titled “Transit Awareness Fun Day”, is a collaboration between The Wave Transit System, Bay Area Women’s Coalition, the Prichard and Mobile Housing Boards, the American Public Transportation Association, and Cumulus Broadcasting.

Beginning at 3 p.m., families will be entertained with McGruff the Crime Dog, complimentary child fingerprinting, clowns, and face painting, as well as hot dogs and drinks. The Wave, Baldwin Rural Area Transportation Service, and Dauphin Island Public Transportation will have buses available for guests to tour and will have representatives on hand to answer questions regarding public transportation.
