MPD Announces July 2009 Officer of the Month

Officer Adam Partridge, a two-year Mobile Police Department veteran assigned to the First Precinct, has been awarded the honor of July 2009 Officer of the Month for his exceptional performance apprehension of numerous felons.Officer Partridge is responsible for the following arrests in July:
• On the evening of July 10, Officer Partridge initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle with no tag on Barkley Drive North. A check of the vehicles VIN revealed that the vehicle was reported stolen. The driver of the vehicle was charged with Receiving Stolen Property First Degree and the passenger was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant and was also charged with Obstruction of Justice.
• On July 11 at 3:00 a.m., Officer Partridge conducted a traffic stop on Dauphin Island Parkway for a vehicle with one headlight. The driver of the vehicle confessed to having marijuana in his possession and was charged with Possession of Marijuana First Degree.
• At approximately 3:00 a.m. on July 16, Officer Partridge observed a vehicle driving north on Flint Street which matched the description of a car reported stolen earlier in the evening. He followed the vehicle to a residence and observed four males walking away from the car. Back-up was called and four suspects were detained and questioned. One juvenile was arrested and charged with Theft of Property First Degree.
• On the evening of July 30, Officer Partridge responded to the Citgo Gas Station at 1401 Navco Rd. in reference to a stolen vehicle complaint. After collecting information from the victim, Officer Partridge began searching for the vehicle. Approximately four hours later, he observed a vehicle matching the description at Michigan Ave. and Virginia St. and initiated a traffic stop. The driver initially sped off then suddenly stopped and a back seat passenger fled on foot. Officer Partridge and his backing officer detained the driver and one passenger while additional officers searched for and located the third passenger who initially fled. Two juveniles and one adult were charged with Receiving Stolen Property First Degree.
During the month of July, Officer Partridge was responsible for making 14 felony and 24 misdemeanor arrests, as well as answering 121 calls for service and backing fellow officers 85 times. His quick actions and keen attention to detail have proven him to be a deserving recipient of the Officer of the Month Award.
