Mobile's 2005 Christmas and Holiday Parade

Jan 3rd, 2006

The Holiday Season in Mobile

Beautifully decorated floats, marching bands, giant helium balloons and Santa Claus can only mean one thing-a parade. With the holidays approaching, Mobile's Christmas & Holiday Parade, presented by McDonald’s, is ready to roll through the streets of downtown Mobile with giant balloons floating through the streets of downtown, 12 floats, groups of Shriners driving perfect figure eights, 3 local high school bands and other local groups performing. The Parade begins at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, December 17, 2005 from the Mobile Civic Center.

Mobile's parade has become a family tradition—an event that delights both children and adults of all ages. For younger children, there will be face painting and balloon clowns at Bienville Square before, during, and after the parade from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. There will also be a “meet and greet” with Winnie the Pooh before the parade starting at 11:00 a.m. in Spanish Plaza.

The Parade will begin at 1:30 p.m. from the Mobile Civic Center, travel north to Claiborne Street, turn right on Government Street, left on Royal, left on Dauphin and left on Claiborne to disband at the Civic Center. Mobile Police will block streets one hour prior to the parade. Take the time before the parade to eat lunch in some of our great restaurants or do some shopping downtown.
