Jan 10th, 2011

Mobile Works has made available nearly a million dollars for area businesses wanting to grow their business. The On-the Job Training (OJT) program is financial assistance available to area business owners and companies to help offset the costs of training a new hire. Mobile Works can pay up to 50% of the costs associated with training new hires for jobs that pay at least $9 per hour. Advantages of using the program include:

• Leverage your training and hiring investment;
• On-site training by your staff to your specifications;
• Flexible programs to streamline the hiring process;
• Minimize turnover.

“We are confident this program will spur job growth and development for Mobile and surrounding counties,” said Sydney Raine, Mobile Works president. “When businesses grow, the whole community grows.” Areas of focus include industries in maritime, aviation, construction, manufacturing, healthcare, transportation/materials handling and technology.

Mobile Works is the local workforce investment agency operating under Alabama‘s Workforce Investment Act. Businesses interested in learning more about the OJT Program should contact Mobile Works at 432-0909 or visit www.mobile-works.org.
