Mobile will be Port of Call for American Cruise Lines in March 2026
Mobile, Ala. — Local officials have announced that Mobile will be a Port of Call for American Cruise Lines and its ship, the American Symphony, next spring as part of a new Gulf Coast Cruise itinerary.
The eight-day cruise, which travels from New Orleans to Pensacola, will include stops at several ports along the Gulf Coast. The first voyage is set to depart from New Orleans on March 1, 2026, with the American Symphony arriving in Mobile on Day 6 of the itinerary. The ship is scheduled to make four stops in Alabama’s Port City during the month of March, each bringing approximately 180 guests to experience Mobile’s incredible restaurants, museums, bars, and cultural attractions.
“We are very excited to be a Port of Call for the American Symphony, and we look forward to welcoming its passengers to explore all of what Mobile has to offer,” said Mayor Sandy Stimpson. “American Cruise Lines focuses on the unique culture, history, and cuisine of coastal cities, and Mobile has those in spades. It’s a perfect fit, and we’re very excited about this new partnership.”
American Cruise Lines is a U.S.-based company known for its small, spacious ships that provide intimate, destination-focused travel experiences. Their cruises are designed to immerse guests in the culture, history, and cuisine of America’s waterfront cities. “We are especially pleased to be visiting Mobile along our newest U.S. itinerary,” said Eric Dussault, Director of Port Development & Construction at American Cruise Lines. “The 2026 cruises will visit Mobile four times, and our small, U.S.-flagged ships will dock behind the National Maritime Museum. We look forward to exploring the local attractions with our guests and visiting Mobile for many years to come.”
For Mobilians, a highlight of the upcoming cruise season will be March 22, 2026, when two ships will be docked in Mobile simultaneously: the American Symphony and the Carnival Spirit. Today’s announcement follows several exciting developments in Mobile’s cruise and tourism industry.
Earlier this month, city officials celebrated the successful delivery and installation of a new, state-of-the-art gangway at the Mobile Alabama Cruise Terminal. This $4.8 million investment will greatly enhance the speed, safety, and comfort of the boarding process for passengers when the Carnival Spirit returns to the Port of Mobile for its seasonal operations in October of 2025.
Carnival Cruise Lines also recently announced it will resume year-round sailings from Mobile in 2027, marking a return to 12-month cruise operations out of the Port City for the first time in five years.
