Mobile Welcomes USS HAWES

Mobile City Council President Reggie Copeland and a team of veterans welcomed the USS HAWES (FFG 53) to Mobile as this year's Mardi Gras Ship. Led by Commander Kristen E. Jacobsen, the USS HAWES is a guided missile frigate named for Rear Admiral Richard E. Hawes.

The officers and crew of the USS HAWES will take part in Mardi Gras festivities and the public is welcome to tour the ship between Saturday, February 21 through Fat Tuesday, February 24.
