Mobile Welcomes New Neighbors in Theodore, Windmill

Voters in the Theodore area and the west Mobile subdivision of Windmill overwhelmingly said YES to joining the City of Mobile during an annexation vote on Tuesday, October 7, 2008. Now, residents in these areas will receive first-class municipal services like free weekly garbage and bi-weekly trash pick up, one-call service requests with Mobile 311 and the comfort of land-use regulations against unwanted businesses in residential areas.

"I'm very excited that the citizens of these areas said yes, and we wholeheartedly welcome them to the City of Mobile," said Mobile Mayor Sam Jones. "We're going to get to work on the great things you can expect now that you are a part of our team."
