Mobile Police Eliminate Drug Distribution Ring

The Narcotic and MCSENT (Mobile County Street Enforcement Narcotics Team) Units concluded a joint, two-month undercover drug operation in the area of R. V. Taylor Housing Community and the Baltimore Street area after receiving citizen complaints of multiple street-level drug dealers plaguing the areas.

As a result, police executed seven search warrants and arrested 15 individuals on a variety of drug charges including trafficking, distribution and possession of controlled substance. Officers seized approximately 5.5 pounds of Marijuana, 1.3 pounds of Synthetic Marijuana (Spice), 103 grams of powder cocaine, four grams of crack cocaine, 27 illegal prescription pills and one liter of liquid codeine syrup. This is a total value of approximately $33,790. In addition, police seized one vehicle valued at $20,000, one firearm valued at $250 and $6,070 in cash.

Mayor Sam Jones stated “This special operation along with others such as Operation IMPACT is truly cleaning up the streets of Mobile. We appreciate the hard work of these officers. Their hard work will make our streets safe and improve the quality of life in our city.”
