Mobile Municipal Court Expands for More Convenient Times, Location

Jan 8th, 2013

At the request of Mayor Sam Jones, City of Mobile Municipal Court Presiding Judge A. Holmes Whiddon has announced changes to traffic arraignment hearings to make them more convenient. Beginning January 22, 2013, there will now be two night courts held each Tuesday and Wednesday at the Mobile Civic Center Expo Hall. This is an expansion of the one night court that had previously been held at Government Plaza.

Each night court docket will handle about 450 – 500 traffic tickets. Effective immediately, traffic citations will reflect the changes. By changing the venue, additional parking will be available.

“This effort is being coordinated to provide service that is more accessible to everyone,” said Mayor Jones. “I want to thank Judge Whiddon and the staff of our Municipal Court for making this more convenient option a reality.”
