MOBILE INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL

Oct 8th, 2004

MOBILE, AL: The Mobile International Festival is moving back to the Mobile Civic Center, where it started 21 years ago, due to Hurricane Ivan. Ivan has affected the lives of many people from Alabama, Florida and Mississippi and Mobile International Festival was not spared. FEMA is currently occupying the Mobile Convention Center’s Exhibit Halls as their disaster operations headquarters for the State of Alabama through January of 2005.

While members of our community are still feeling the effects of this natural disaster, we must remember to be patient and compromise, making the best of the circumstances during these trying times. "The move to the Mobile Civic Center is a positive one for the Festival and the community because we are still going to be able to hold our event. We are also very happy to be able to do our part by aiding in the recovery efforts to our area victims," says Estela Dorn, Executive Director of the Mobile International Festival.
