Mobile Fire-Rescue to Burn Old Tides Inn

If you see the old Tides Inn on Hamilton Blvd catch fire today, don’t worry. Mobile Fire-Rescue has it under control. Mobile Fire-Rescue will be demonstrating a live burn exercise as part of the first Citizens Fire Academy. The burning of the three-story, wood frame structure is scheduled to begin at approximately 6 p.m. today Tuesday, June 12, 2007.

This will end the training portion of the academy which is in its ninth week. The twenty-five members of the first Citizens Fire Academy will hold graduation ceremonies at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19 in the Mobile Gas Corporation’s Auditorium located at 2828 Dauphin Street.
