Mobile Fire-Rescue September 11th Memorial Activities

Mobile Fire-Rescue will be conducting two events on Saturday, September 11, 2010 to commemorate the 9th anniversary of the attacks that took place on September 11, 2001. These events are open to the public as well.

Beginning at 8:45 a.m. Mobile Fire-Rescue Honor Guard members and firefighters will hold a memorial ceremony at Tapia Fire Station, located at 4710 Airport Boulevard (West of University Boulevard). The ceremony will include the posting of colors, a wreath laying and last alarm bell ceremony. The ceremony should conclude by 9:20 a.m.

At approximately 2:00 p.m. there will be a flagpole dedication and flag raising ceremony at the department’s Bureau of Fire Prevention Office and Logistics Warehouse located at 2851 Old Shell Road (East of Sage Avenue). The event is being hosted by Lodge 1 of the Woodmen of the World. The Korean Veteran Flag Corp. will be doing the flag raise.
