Mobile Fire-Rescue Receives the Golden Axe Award

Apr 6th, 2009

On Tuesday, April 7th at 10:30 a.m. City Council Meeting, Mobile Fire-Rescue will be presented the Golden Axe Award for their participation in the 2008 Fill-the-Boot Campaign. Each year this program benefits the children, adults, and their families, served by the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Please join us as we show our appreciation for these heroes!

Mobile Fire-Rescue raised over $62,000 to help many local families and children with neuromuscular disease in last years’ campaign.

Mobile Fire-Rescue has already begun their Fill-the-Boot program for 2009 and will be out “filling their boots” at various intersections all over Mobile on Saturdays through the month of April. This year’s goal is $63,000!

With the help of Mobile Fire-Rescue, MDA is able to provide flu shots, wheel chair assistance, clinic visits, physical therapy, and summer camp. MDA is honored to have the opportunity to partner with the fine men and women of Mobile Fire-Rescue. We appreciate the support and encouragement shown by the community each year during the Fill-the-Boot campaign.

Please help Mobile Fire-Rescue help Jerry’s Kids by filling the boots of these firefighters with your donations when you see them!
