Mobile Fire-Rescue Receives Seven New Fire Trucks

Mobile Fire-Rescue has taken delivery of five new fire engines and two new quint trucks that will add to and replace some of its current aging fleet of trucks. A quint, also known as a “quintuple combination pumper”, is a fire truck that serves a dual purpose of an engine and ladder.

The trucks will be on display beginning at 8 a.m. today, Friday, February 25 at the MFRD Training Academy located at 860 Owens Street, across from the City of Mobile Animal Shelter. MFRD officials will begin placing the new trucks into service on Tuesday, March 1.

The trucks were built by E-ONE, which is headquartered in Ocala, Florida and purchased through Sunbelt Fire, located in Fairhope, AL.

The trucks will go into service at the following stations:

Central Fire Station (Engine 3) – 701 St. Francis Street – New Engine

Ashland Station 12 – 2407 Old Shell Road – New Engine

Toulminville Station 14 – 2062 Dr. MLK Ave – New Engine

Engine 15 (currently housed at Springhill Station) – 700 Museum Drive – New Engine

Melton Station (Truck 17) – 57 S. Lafayette Street – New Quint

New Fire Station – 8100 Airport Blvd – New Engine and Quint
