Mobile Fire-Rescue Investigators Seek Information

Fire Investigators with the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department’s Bureau of Fire Prevention have been conducting an on-site investigation today at Cato Fashions located at 7885 Moffett Road and evidence indicates that the fire may have been intentionally set. The fire occurred Tuesday evening, June 2. A customer who was exiting a dressing room discovered the fire and reported it to a store employee at approximately 7:52 p.m. The manager of the business attempted to put the fire out with a fire extinguisher prior to calling 911. The fire caused an estimated $250 thousand in damage to the business as well as to four other businesses in the shopping center.
