Mobile Delegation Visits Japan Sister City

Mobile Mayor Sam Jones, along with several City Council members and staffers, represented the City of Mobile on Sister City exchange with the nation of Japan. Last year, a large group of Japanese officials, visited the Port City to yield information in a number of areas.

The Sister City Exchange Included Tours/Discussion Of The Following:

· 15th-Year Celebration of Mobile’s Sister City Exchange;

· Tour of Ichihara Industrial Area;

· Tokyo Electric

· Tokyo Stock Exchange; Bank of Japan;

· Ichihara City Hall;

· Mitsui Engineering Shipbuilding;

· Dow Toray Chemical;

· Tour of the Port of Yokohama;

· Yokohama Museum of History;

Next Year: Japanese officials have agreed to return to Mobile in 2009 to celebrate the opening of the Hank Aaron Museum at Hank Aaron Stadium.
